Art Palm Beach has been captivating the interest of art enthusiast, collectors and connoisseurs for 13 years. The fair has become one of the most influential and innovative contemporary art fairs on Florida's Gold Coast. International Fine Art Expositions (IFAE), organizers of the 14th annual Art Palm Beach fair, have always valued a comprehensive and culturally significant lecture and panel series as a vital component of Art Palm Beach; offering fair attendees the opportunity to be educated and informed on various cultural and art related issues from some of the art world's leading experts.

Art Palm Beach's 2011 lecture and panel series will begin on Friday, January 21st with "Collecting Trends in the Ceramic Marketplace" at one o'clock. The lecture will be given by Peter Held, Curator of Ceramics, ASU Art Museum. Followed by "The New Glass Studio: A Plethora of Potential for Artists and Collectors Alike" at two thirty; moderated by Davira Taragin, the panel members include Brent Cole, Associate Professor of Glass and Program Director of the Marilyn K. Glick Center for Glass, Ball State University; Kelly Conway, Curator of Glass, Chrysler Museum of Art; and Steve T. Gibbs, Hot Glass Programs Manager, Corning Museum of Glass. To complete the day's program, "A Conversation on Aboriginal Art" will begin at four o'clock. David Smith, Leslie Smith Gallery, Amsterdam; will be discussing the importance of Aboriginal art and it's affect on the modern world with a special guest, Aboriginal Artist and Parliament Member, Alison Anderson. Anderson will be coming from Australia to share her first-hand opinions and experiences with Art Palm Beach attendees.

On Saturday, January 22nd with "Art Now: The Convergence of Photography, Video and Contemporary Art" at one. The panel will consist of moderator Kara-Walker Tome, owner and curator, ArtSite; and panel members Elaine Mordes, collector and Michael Rush, curator. At two fifteen, "Albert Paley in the 21st Century" renowned artist Albert Paley will discuss his recent commissions and his current works in today's world, followed by a book signing. Three thirty will bring a conversation between glass artists Lino Tagliapietra and Schantz Gallery Owner, Jim Schantz. Ending the day with a presentation at five on the new Miami Art Museum, "The New Miami Art Museum at Museum Park", Thom Collins, Director of the Miami Art Museum, will enlighten us with the exciting plans for the new museum.

Sunday, January 23rd will begin with a lecture and panel series on "Collecting Chinese Photography". Chris Mao will moderate a panel consisting of Christopher Phillips, International Center of Photography; Dale Anderson and Becky Mayer, both seasoned collectors. Continuing with "Private, Public, Private" at two thirty, celebrated glass artists Howard Ben Tre will give a intriguing lecture on how the artists' work has been transformed by his explorations in public and private commissions. The Artist will discuss his innovative and historic use of glass in outdoor installations, seating, fountains and public spaces. Finishing the day with "Collecting post-Soviet Art: Navigating the Waters after Glasnost and Perestroika", Gary Krimershmoys from Quintessentially Art will lead panel members, Yevgeniy Fiks, artist and Yana Balan, Client Liason Russian and CIS, Christies.

Gean Moreno, curator and artist, on Monday, January 24th will lecture on the Art Palm Beach exhibition, "Improvising Architectures", which will look at the meaning of proliferating precarious structures in our globalized world. It will showcase the work of five Miami artists--Christy Gast, Adler Guerrier, Nicolas Lobo, Ernesto Oroza and Viking Funeral--alongside that of artists Graham Hudson of London, Felipe Arturo of Bogotá, and Heather Rowe and Carlos Sandoval de León, of New York. Following will be a lecture by Campion Platt, author of "Made to Order" with a book signing to follow. "2012 the 50th Anniversary of the Glass Studio" will close the Art Palm Beach 2011 lecture and panel series. This lecture and panel discussion will be lead by Joan Baxt, of the Florida Glass Alliance.
