The countdown can begin...

TEFAF MAASTRIC

In just over a week TEFAF Maastricht 2013 (15 to 24 March) will open its doors! Work is going on behind the scenes to create a spectacular twenty-sixth fair. This newsletter presents a selection of the outstanding highlights. We would also like to draw your attention to a number of services which may be of interest to you. More information: www.tefaf.com

Highlights of TEFAF
Velázquez (1599-1660) will be at TEFAF this year. Otto Naumann Ltd. has a Portrait of a Gentleman, bust-length, in a black tunic and white golilla collar. And from the studio of this Spanish artist, Galeria Caylus is offering a Portrait of Queen Isabel de Borbón, dating from around 1627-31. An exhibition of tools can be seen on Alessandro Cesati’s stand. Their shapes and symbolic meanings were sometimes so fascinating that they became part of European princely collections during the Renaissance and Baroque. Chopard will be showing a magnificent High Jewellery necklace. Designed like a lace collar, this white gold necklace is set with multiple precious stones including a 69 ct. pear-shaped tanzanite. George Nakashima (1905-1990) will be the focus of Sebastian + Barquet. This Japanese-American woodworker, architect, and furniture maker was one of the leading innovators of twentieth-century furniture design and a father of the American craft movement.
