NEW YORK, 12 April 2016 – Sotheby’s is pleased to unveil new photography for At Home, our third annual Designer Showhouse & Auction, now on view at Sotheby’s New York. Twelve interior designers and design firms created one unique room within a home constructed within the fifth-floor exhibition space of Sotheby’s Manhattan headquarters.
The emerging and established members from the tri-state area and the West Coast design communities were asked to select works from an array of Sotheby’s departments to furnish their respective rooms, including 20th Century Design, English & Continental Furniture, Ceramics, Fine Arts, Prints, Silver, and Photographs. Each designer juxtaposed the contemporary and the traditional as well as fine and decorative art to create diverse spaces that embody the essence of modern-day luxury living. The Showhouse is open to the public now through 16 April, alongside Sotheby’s Decorative Arts Week exhibitions, and will culminate in a dedicated auction of the room’s furnishings on 17 April 2016.
Trey LaFave Architecture and Interiors created the 6300 square feet architectural design. The twelve participating interior designers and design firms are:
Bunny Williams, Living Room Sandra Nunnerley, Family Room Scott Sanders, Library Shelley Morris Interiors, Dining Room Richard Rabel Interiors + Art, Foyer and Gallery 2 BHDM Design, Sunroom Bradley Bayou Design, Master Study Fawn Galli Interiors, Gallery 2 Jenny Wolf Interiors, Breakfast Room Robert Passal Interior and Architectural Design, Master Bedroom Patrick Mele, Withdrawing Room CRD Associates, Pantry Bar
Csongor Kis, Specialist in Sotheby’s French & Continental Furniture Department, said: “At Home: Sotheby’s Designer Showhouse & Auction offers both the seasoned and new collector a range of objects of varying forms and from numerous centuries presented through the eyes of our incredibly talented interior designers.
