Andreas Leikauf scheint, wie ein Comicautor, über ein bildliches Inventar zu verfügen das er einsetzen kann, was sicher auf den anonymisierten Bildstil zurueckzufuehren ist. Mit dem Begriff Trash hat der Künstler sicher kein Problem. Trash repliziert alle wichtigen Genres der Hochkultur und parodiert diese auch. Die Potenz der populaeren Kultur – die es natuerlich auch schon vor der Pop-Art gegeben hat – liegt in ihrer Unmittelbarkeit und angeblichen Unartikuliertheit. Seine Bild- Wortkombinationen scheinen Teil eines kollektiven Unbewussten zu sein.

Die Arbeiten von Flavio Favelli sind eng verbunden mit der Idee und der Taetigkeit des „Wohnens“ –genauer gesagt mit dem Heim und seinen strukturellen Komponenten wie zum Beispiel Boeden, Waenden, Tueren, als auch den darin befindlichen Objekten wie Moebeln und Accessoires. Mit anderen Worten: Den Spuren und Aussagen der Menschen, die darin leben galt immer sein Hauptinteresse und bilden den Schwerpunkt seiner kuenstlerischen Untersuchungen.

Like an author of comics, Andreas Leikauf seems to have access to and use of an inventory of images, which is surely traced back to the anonymous pictorial style. The idea of trash is certainly no problem for the artist. Trash replicates all major genres of advanced civilization and parodies it, too. The potency of popular culture – which of course also existed before pop art – lies in its directness and supposed inarticulacy. His image-word combinations seem to be part of a collective subconscious.

The work of Flavio Favelli is firmly set, it must be said, on the idea and the practice of “living”; the home in terms of its structural component parts such as floors, walls, doors, and also the objects it contains such as furnishings and accessories; in other words the testimony of those who live in it have always been at the centre of his attention and at the basis of his artistic research.

Die Serie ‚Auto-Portrait’ ist eine fotografische Dokumentation des Nachkriegs-Bosnien-Herzegowina, gesehen durch die Augen von Vanda Vucicevic, einer jungen in England lebenden, bosnischen Frau. Inspiriert durch den zunehmenden Multikulturalismus sind die Aufnahmen als eine Art Selbst-Entdeckung zu verstehen, in denen die Kuenstlerin ihre Beziehung zu ihrem Heimatland, aus welchem sie geflohen ist und in dem sie nicht mehr lebt, hinterfragt.

The photo series ‚auto-portrait’ is a photographic documentation of post-war Bosnia-Herzegovina seen through the eyes of Vanda Vucicevic, a young Bosnian woman living in Britain. Inspired by multiculturalism the photos may be regarded as a self-discovery in which the artist is questioning her relation to the country from which she escaped and in which she no longer lived.
