Beirut Art Fair 2014

Libanon

BEIRUT ART FAIR is getting ready to hold its 5th edition at the Beirut International Exhibition and Leisure Center (BIEL) from 18 to 21 September, 2014.
This modern and contemporary art fair, created under the leadership of Laure d’Hauteville and Pascal Odille in 2010; has today become the international reference for artistic creations in the ME.NA.SA region. Contemporary art hub, meeting point between the East and the West, BEIRUT ART FAIR is the first fair in the world dedicated to artists from the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia.

In September 2013, 46 galleries from 14 countries attracted more than 18,000 visitors to BIEL who were keen to discover the fair’s 4th edition. Before its opening, the path initiated by Beirut Art Week’s first edition seduced “Beirutis”. The event was complemented by multiple openings, spreading a « made in Beirut » celebration spirit.
This year, the organizers of BEIRUT ART FAIR expect to welcome around 50 modern and contemporary art galleries, representing the ME.NA.SA. ART with its diversity, expressed through painting, drawing, sculpture, video, design, or art performances. The cultural program foresees special gatherings between collectors, artists, professionals of the art world, and exhibiting galleries.

After the success of its previous four editions, BEIRUT ART FAIR sets Beirut as the cultural and intellectual capital of the Arab world. « The enthusiasm created since the launching of the BEIRUT ART FAIR reveals the artistic and economic development within the ME.NA.SA region. It is a fair where emerging artists experience new discoveries and where modern art pioneers in the region have the chance to make rediscoveries. We are proud to provide a platform for these art creations at the heart of the Fertile Crescent », emphasizes Laure d’Hauteville.
