Asian Art in London is delighted to announce that in its 19th year the Event is short-listed for the ‘Business Award for Arts & Creative Services’ as organised by the Lloyds Bank National Business Awards. The winner will be announced on the 15th of November.
There will be two important book launches during AAL this year, the first on Friday 6th November, at the London Library in St James’s, when Elizabeth Herridge launches her publication on ‘Bringing Heaven to Earth, Silver Jewellery and Ornament in the late Qing Dynasty’ and the second on Thursday 10th November, at the Queen’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace, with a celebration of the publication of ‘Chinese and Japanese Works of Art in the Collection of Her Majesty The Queen’, which examines over 2000 works in the Royal Collection.
Asian Art in London Symposium; Wednesday 9th November at 5.30pm. AAL continues its annual Symposium with ‘The Science of Art’. This will include a private view & talk, on early & never previously shown photographs of Shanghai, from the Stephan Loewentheil collection. The Symposium will also reveal the revolutionary 3d printing techniques of antique works of art and architecture, to include Tutankhamen’s tomb, by Factum Arte of Madrid. A new hypothesis will reveal startling finds, by scientific researcher & Japanese expert Riccardo Montanari, during his lecture, ‘The origin of overglaze enamelling in Japan’. A changing world, presents changing arts and this year AAL keeps pace with the trend and provides exciting contemporary exhibitions on display at galleries; Aktis, Raquelle Azran, Gregg Baker, Fitzgerald Fine Arts, Grosvenor Gallery, Hanga Ten, Jhaveri Contemporary, Mayor Gallery, Rossi & Rossi, Gallery Elena Shchukina, Richard Saltoun Gallery and by private appointment at Kamal Bakhshi.
