This June, which has grown as a world-renowned art fair entices worldwide art-people to Busan where art becomes festival.

This year, will stage itself as Korea’s largest global art fair in BEXCO located in Haeunadae, Busan on June 5, 2015. Growing as a world-renowned art fair after its founding in 2012, < ART BUSAN 2015> now plays an important role in leading the trend of contemporary art and Revitalizing art communities around the world.

Previously known as “Art Show Busan”, will showcase worldwide masterpieces. 86 foreign galleries including Pearl Lam Gallery and Tomio Koyama gallery which are Gaining their global fame as issue makers of contemporary art, and 115 world-renowned Korean galleries including Kukje Gallery, Gallery Hyundai, Gana Art Gallery and Arario Gallery will be participating. Total number of 16 countries, 201 galleries, and over 4,000 pieces in one art fair will definitely be a sight to behold. Furthermore, many special exhibitions and side events are another reason to eagerly anticipate . Special exhibition will not only display beauty of Korean paintings which are sometimes underestimated in modern conte-mporary art community, but will also offer vision and direction of Korean paintings. Ran Hwang, whose works are adored by global public and critic alike will be presenting from Hermès Foundation. Moreover, independent art space ‘Openspace Bae-Curator SangHo Seo’ will present . They are well known by their collaboration with foreign and domestic artists and galleries and bringing many defiant art works for the last 10 years.

Art publications archives are also interesting special exhibitions that bring originality to < ART BUSAN 2015>. Koji Hamada, known by his various exhibition as a Gallerist and art director, is curating art publications exhibition called . by Daljin Kim of Kimdajin Art Research and Consulting will provide a chance to look at history of contemporary art from different perspective.

Public lecture program , which introduces hot issues and latest news of global art community will not only be informative, but also act as icebreakers among critics and art professionals. will no doubt play an important role in uplift the prominence of Korean painting and provide its vision. which will be given by a world renowned art critic and the writer of 『Conceptual Art』, Dr. Robert C. Morgan. Another lecture worth paying attention to is by Christoph Noe. He is well known as a co-founder of ‘Larry’s list’ which contains data of over 3,000 art collector profiles, and will introduce characteristics and roles of today’s art collector in the lecture. Rick Wang, the chairperson for Taiwan Art Gallery Association and Asia Art Gallery Association, will suggest and introduce major topics and episodes in global art scene.

Especially, ART BUSAN has prepared various awards to commemorate many talented artists and support the art community. Newly established ‘ART BUSAN Young Artist Award’, as well as existing ‘ART BUSAN Choice’ and ‘Sponsor Special Award’ will be a founding block for more talents to come. Outside the exhibition hall, clear sky and a cool breeze will add zest to side-events that takes place in Olympic Sculpture Park. Artists from Busan’s association of young artists, Art District_p, will showcase and showcase an interesting idea of artistic work becoming practical seating for improvisation dancing, break dancing, or band performance. Around the time of dusk, will screen movies about art, such as ‘Big Eyes’, and ‘Midnight in Paris’ that will illuminate the early summer night sky of Busan.
